Scottish Rite Hopsital Charity Pistol Auction

Last Updated on

Gritr Sports is pleased to announce their first annual Charity Pistol Auction this holiday season. One hundred percent of the proceeds generated from the auction go directly to Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. This year you’ll be able to bid on an actual Texas Rangers duty pistol carried by Sgt. C.H. “Trace” McDonald. Hurry because bidding ends on December 29th 2016!

Sgt. McDonald was kind enough to donate his current duty pistol to Gritr Sports, and his Glock 17 Gen 4 is chambered in 9×19 Parabellum and features a dark earth polymer color with a black Glock slide finish. All the serial numbers (frame, slide and barrel) are matching, and the pistol comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Sgt. McDonald declaring that he carried the pistol in duty during the past year. Bidding is now open at GunBroker.com and you can see more details on the Gritr Sports Site.

In addition to the Glock 17 and the signed certificate of authenticity, the successful bidder will also receive:

  • The original owners manual (still sealed in the factory envelope)
  • Three 17 round magazines
  • The original Glock easy loader included with the pistol
  • The four original back straps and matching back strap pin
  • The factory child safety lock
  • 3 hours of range and instruction time with Sgt. McDonald at Dallas Pistol Club or choice of DFW range (successful bidder must furnish ammunition for the instruction period).

Additional Details About The Auction

Gritr Sports Storefront Manager Trent Richardson commented upon the privilege of working with local law enforcement to benefit a local area hospital: “I met Sgt. McDonald while working in the firearms industry several years ago. We have mutual interest in firearms, and having come from a law enforcement background myself, we have become friends. I consider it an honor to know Sgt. McDonald and have tremendous respect for him and all of the work that the Rangers do for The Great State of Texas.”

“This Christmas season, I approached Sgt. McDonald with the idea of auctioning one of his firearms along with a certificate of authenticity as a collector’s piece. He immediately agreed, and he exchanged his personally-owned duty pistol for a new one that we had in stock. We then placed the duty pistol up for auction with all proceeds going to charity.”

He went on to discuss his choice of charity: “We decided upon Scottish Rite Hospital because it’s important for us to impact our local community, and Scottish Rite helps a lot of children in our area. It was a perfect fit for us.”

Help us donate to this worth cause this holiday season. No sale tax will be collected on the sale of the pistol regardless of where you live. Don’t forget bidding ends this December 29th.
